Cross-Cultural Education

Moving for work to another country is challenging. Moving the family too can complicate the transition and generate significant issues. Questions such as: "What's living like in Japan or Australia? How do we find long term accomodation? Do we buy or rent? Is our English - or Japanese language skills - enough to function in either country? Where can we acquire better language skills? What government obligations - immigration and tax - must I attend to? What expertise do I need to support my life and business?" These are some of the questions our clients ask. We solve many immediate questions, but don't hesitate to refer clients to trusted expertise in accountancy, law, and education in both countries. With many years experience living in both countries we support, offer solutions and direction to overcome concerns.

Japanese and Australia communities harbour divergent social expectations, laws and processes. Japan is a very orderly homogenous society with rules - written and assumed - that frame peoples activities and behaviour. Australia's multi-cultural immigrant society is less socially structured - with fewer cultural taboos. However change is dynamic, with a growing legislative trend that impacts on business, work, and social interactions. Taxation responsibilities and financial services also differ greatly between the countries.

What often happens is many foreigners moving to Japan need initial guidance to help establish good practices and relations with their Japanese neighbours, the community, Japanese corporate players and government offices. It's best to understand the expectations of your hosts.  We support clients through this process and refer them to the scope of trusted services they will need: Be that accountancy, law government or commercial agencies - such as basketball and real estate.

We also refer clients to language and social education programs to support their life in either country.
